Your data, plainly.
Binarytree stores what you need for your portfolio and resumes, and nothing is public until you publish. This page explains what we keep, who sees it, and how to remove it, in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
1.What we collect
- From GitHub when you sign in: your GitHub username, display name, profile photo and email address. We ask GitHub for basic profile access only, never access to your private repositories.
- From your public repositories: names, descriptions, languages, READMEs, commit counts and dates, read through GitHub's public API so the editor can draft your projects.
- What you write or upload: your headline, about text, projects, experience, education, skills, achievements, stats, resume versions, links, an optional public email and phone number, your profile photo, project images and any resume PDF you upload.
- About teammates: the names, roles and GitHub usernames you add to a project. Visitors see a teammate's name and photo only after that teammate confirms; until then, only the role. When a teammate answers an invite link, we store their answer, their GitHub username, the role they gave and when they answered. They can change or withdraw it from the same link, and you can remove them at any time.
2.Who can see it
Before you publish, only you can see your portfolio. Once you publish, anyone with the link can see what is on your page: your name, photo, headline, projects, images, links and the parts you chose to show. Uploaded photos, project images and resume PDFs are stored at public web addresses, so treat them as public. If you turn on the Download resume button, visitors can download that resume.
Your phone number is never shown on your portfolio. It appears on resumes you download yourself, and on the resume your page offers only if you tick “Include my phone number”. Your sign-in email is not shown anywhere unless you add it as your public email.
3.What we use it for
Only to run Binarytree: signing you in, building and saving your portfolio and resumes, and showing your published page. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
4.Cookies and storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. The editor also keeps a copy of your repository list in your browser so it opens faster. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
5.Services that process it for us
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- GitHub: sign-in and your public repository data.
These providers may store data outside Singapore. We use them only to run Binarytree and expect them to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
6.Deleting your data
You can edit or remove anything in the editor at any time, and unpublish your page with one click. “Delete account” in the editor's account menu permanently removes your profile, projects, resumes, uploaded resume PDFs, photos and images. It cannot be undone. Copies of a page that other sites or search engines made while it was published are outside our control.
7.Your rights and contact
Under the PDPA you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent, which means deleting your account. For any of these, or a question about this policy, reach us at the contact address that will be listed here before Binarytree opens to everyone.
8.Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what is public, we'll tell you in the editor before it applies.
